What Is Kinesio & Neurodynamic Taping?
Kinesiology tape is a thin, elastic, skin-friendly tape applied along muscles and joints to support without restricting movement. Lifting the skin microscopically, it improves circulation and lymphatic drainage in the area. Neurodynamic taping goes a step further, using specific patterns to influence how nerves glide and how the body senses and controls movement.
Unlike rigid strapping, this tape moves with you. That means the benefit of your session continues for several days, through work, training, and daily life.
How It Works
- Supports injured or fatigued muscles without limiting motion
- Improves blood flow and helps reduce swelling and bruising
- Provides constant sensory feedback that encourages better movement
- Takes load off irritated tissue so it can recover
What to Expect in a Session
Taping is quick, painless, and usually applied at the end of a treatment to lock in the results. Dr. Duani chooses the pattern and tension based on your specific need: support, decompression, or movement retraining. The tape stays on for several days, including in the shower, and is removed gently.
- Assessment: identifying what the tissue needs (support, drainage, or feedback)
- Application: precise taping pattern and tension for your goal
- Wear: the tape works for several days through normal activity
Conditions Taping Helps
- Sports injuries and muscle strains
- Joint instability and overuse
- Swelling and bruising after injury
- Postural fatigue in the neck and shoulders
- Recovery support after an adjustment or dry needling
